The European Parliament decided by 458 votes to 73, with 68 abstentions, to approve the appointment of Dominique Laboureix as Chair of the Single Resolution Board for a period of five years. As a reminder, Regulation (EU) No 806/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing uniform rules and a uniform procedure for the resolution of credit institutions and certain investment firms in the framework of a Single Resolution Mechanism and a Single Resolution Fund. Article 56(4) of Regulation (EU) No 806/2014 provides that the Chair of the Single Resolution Board are to be appointed on the basis of merit, skills, knowledge of banking and financial matters, and of experience relevant to financial supervision, regulation and bank resolution. On 12 October 2022, the Commission adopted a proposal for the appointment of Dominique Laboureix as Chair of the Single Resolution Board and submitted this proposal to the Parliament.
