The Committee on Budgetary Control adopted the report by Indrek Tarand (Greens/EFA, EE) on the nomination of Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz (HU) as a Member of the Court of Auditors. The committee evaluated the credentials of the nominee proposed by the Council in particular in view of the requirements laid down in Article 286(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. At its meeting of 12 April 2017, it heard the Council’s nominee for membership of the Court of Auditors. Members called on the European Parliament to deliver a favourable opinion on the Council’s nomination of Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz as a Member of the Court of Auditors. The European Parliament delivered a favourable opinion (326 votes to 126, with 193 abstentions) on the Council’s nomination of Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz (HU) as a Member of the Court of Auditors. The Committee on Budgetary Control, after having evaluated the credentials of the proposed nominee, in particular in view of the requirements laid down in Article 286(1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, heard the Council’s nominee for membership of the Court of Auditors at its meeting of 12 April 2017. PURPOSE: To appoint a Hungarian member to the Court of Auditors. NON-LEGISLATIVE ACT: Council Decision 2017/869 (EU, Euratom) appointing a Member of the Court of Auditors. CONTENT: With this Decision, the Council decides to appoint Ildikó Gáll-Pelcz as Hungarian Member of the Court of Auditors for the period from 1.9.2017 to 31.8.2023. He will replace Mr Szabolcs FAZAKAS whose term of office expired on 6 May 2016.
